In my opinion, everyone can benefit from therapy. If you are struggling with emotional pain, painful past memories, difficulties at work, or feeling disconnected in your relationships then therapy with me can help. The goal of therapy is to reduce emotional suffering and improve daily functioning.
Talking with a therapist is different from talking with a friend or family member. I am completely impartial, non judgemental, and will protect your confidentiality. I also have extensive training on human psychology and mental health, allowing me to intervene from a clinical perspective, not just a supportive one.

Virtual therapy, also known as online therapy, teletherapy, or distance counseling, is the practice of providing therapy services electronically. I work exclusively online, all of our sessions will be video sessions.
Virtual therapy is appropriate for most individuals and can be used to treat a wide variety of mental health concerns.
Please note: Virtual therapy is not appropriate if you are in severe crisis, struggling with suicidal ideation, hallucinations or delusional thinking. If that is you, please contact a local therapist who can see you in person. For help identifying a therapist, you can call the number on your insurance card for a list of local providers. If you are having suicidal thoughts please call 911 or go to your local emergency room.

Not at this time; all sessions are virtual.

Phone sessions without video are only used if we are having technical issues when attempting to connect to our planned video call. In my experience, audio only sessions are less effective and are used only as a work around, not as a primary mode of meeting. EMDR sessions cannot be done without video. If you unexpectedly cannot connect with video at the time of your appointment, we will still meet and make meaningful progress towards your goals by focusing on skill building and problem solving.

50 minute individual counseling sessions are $225. EMDR intensives are $225/hour of meeting.
-
Your first appointment will last approximately 50 minutes. We will briefly review policies and expectations, discuss what brings you into therapy, your mental health history, and your goals for treatment. We will have time to answer any questions you may have and discuss a plan to achieve your treatment goals.
-
Duration of therapy depends on a variety of factors and is not one size fits all. I encourage my clients to be prepared to invest in therapy for a minimum of 6 months. It is not my goal to keep you in therapy forever. We can discuss your specific timeline as we progress through treatment. It is not always clear from the start.

Your attendance, what you say and and your records are confidential. Trust that what you share in therapy remains between you and your therapist is vital in the effectiveness of therapy.
However, there are some exceptions:
When you give written permission to release information.
When your records are subpoenaed for legal reasons.
When reporting is required or allowed by law (example: child abuse or neglect, extreme danger to self, elder abuse, danger to others, or viewing or possession of child pornography).

No, I am not a medication provider. I do have close connections with medication prescribers in the area who I can help you connect with if needed.
