About Me

Meet Erin Haverkamp, LCSW

Feel better, make peace with your past, and know you’re enough.

Your emotions sometimes get the better of you, and you’re tired of feeling out of control.

You’re in the right place.

I’m here to help.

You want to know “How did I get here?”, especially since you’ve experienced so much success on paper, which you thought would make you feel good.  My goal is to help you answer that question and move forward with intention.

We’ll do that together by taking a close look at your patterns of behavior, past experiences, relationships, and goals for your future. I will provide guidance as you work through potentially difficult emotions and memories. Therapy is a safe place to do hard work, enabling you to live your life without feeling burdened by the past.

You are a capable person. No doubt you’ve tried to improve your mental health already through reading, podcasts, and other self-help resources. But good mental health is difficult to achieve on your own.

I can bridge the gap between your goals and your reality.

Through years of experience working as a trauma-informed therapist in some of the most challenging settings, I’m uniquely qualified to help. I will draw from several models of therapy, tailored to your needs as I get to know your individual story.

My style

You’re ready to do deep work to understand how you got here and how to move forward.

Clients describe me as patient, analytical, perceptive, and intelligent. I will always be straightforward with you and strike a balance between listening and guidance.

You’re not coming to therapy to hear yourself talk; you’re ready for direction. I’m going to give you that.

Methods & Modalities

  • EMDR is a leading treatment for trauma and reduction of feelings of depression and anxiety. This treatment allows us to move beyond coping with the past to resolving it.

  • Finding time for therapy can be challenging. EMDR intensives allow us to reduce the time away from your work and other obligations by diving deep into our EMDR work in longer sessions, resolving issues more quickly, and getting you back to what matters most.

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is the bedrock of all psychotherapy practices. These skills allow us to increase your ability to tolerate uncomfortable feelings, identify patterns that don’t serve you, and make positive changes to your belief system about yourself. All of which will reduce feelings of chaos and improve functioning in every area of life.

We’re a good fit if you are:

  • Motivated.

  • Ready to do the work of examining your past.

  • Wanting to identify patterns of thought and behavior that hold you back.

  • Prepared to implement what you learn in therapy into your daily life.

  • Showing up for your daily obligations, but it’s a struggle.

  • Ready for lasting and meaningful change.

We’re not a good fit if you are:

  • Struggling with chronic depression that has not improved despite years of therapy and medication.

  • Not willing to apply what we work on outside of the therapy session.

  • Struggling with substance use that has become out of your control.

  • Currently suicidal.

  • Under the age of 18.

  • Looking for couples counseling.
